MPA’s  Environmental Commitment

The Maryland Port Administration (MPA) recognizes its important role as a steward of the Chesapeake Bay environment and is committed to protecting this unique environment. Highlighting this commitment are
completed and on-going environmental projects sponsored by MPA, such as the restoration of Poplar Island as a wildlife refuge, and other projects related to the innovative use of dredge material.

MPA’s commitment is embodied in its environmental policyThe environmental policy can be found throughout MPA maintenance, operations, and office facilities.

Over the past two years, the MPA has been developing and implementing an Environmental Management System (EMS).  The EMS Profile shares the MPA’s journey from concept to implementation.  The journey is continuing.  Reports will be available on this journey as it progresses.
